In Tyson Run the plot covers the story of an autistic boy named Tyson who is homeschooled by his mother, Eloise. Tyson’s father is a former football coach at Pope High School but later his injury ended his career. After dinner, Tyson says that he is interested in his father’s school because his mother is unable to teach him algebra.
After arguments, Tyson’s father agreed to send him to school. On the first day of Tyson’s school, everyone started to make fun of him, especially Bradley. And Tyson also has a friend named Shannon. Tyson’s mother Eloise finds that she is pregnant and feels that the baby also may have a condition of Tyson. In school, Bradley puts a mirror on the floor and the teacher’s skirt.
The teacher thinks it was done by Tyson and sends him out of the class. He is locked in the car and found by his friend Aklilu who takes him to a shoe shop. Tyson called his mother to pick him up. One day Tyson hears the talks of his parents, they are discussing that Tyson was run out of the house for up to 15 miles. Tyson’s foot is locked in the pond and he is unable to move.
The search party is stopped because the search party was bitten by a rattlesnake. Tyson’s father Bobby feels very sad for his son and about his treatment. Later aklilu finds them both near the pond and informs Tyson’s mother Eloise. After the incident, Tyson’s father opens up with his son and finds that his son’s dream is to run and win the marathon.
Made Tyson participate in the State championship and Tyson was motivated by aklilu and his father. After winning the marathon Tyson talks to his baby sister giving her hope that he will be there for her.
